Soil Markets:

• Event: course Soil Markets’ Empirical Methods in Latin America

• Summary:  This course is designed to familiarize researchers and people working in the soil field policies with the study of the basic urban economy and methods and tools for mapping and soil analysis market information generating reliable foundations for promoting territorial policies of urban development and dynamics of soil markets in our region.

• Event: 5th International Congress of municipalities and public services “Crisis and local governance”
• Date: 9 – 11 September, 2009
• Place: Cordoba, Argentina
• Facilities: For those interested who reside outside of Argentina, there is a limited number of scholarships for lodging and 50% reduction in the registration fee in order to facilitate their participation

Jornadas gvSIG Latinoamérica:

• Event: 1st Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean for gvSIG users
• Date: September 30 – October 2, 2009
• Place: Buenos Aires, Argentina
• Importance:  These workshops will serve as contact point to the growing number of experts and stakeholders in the free geomatics area, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas. A turning point for consolidating the Latin American community of gvSIG.

During the conference will present the latest developments in the gvSIG project, as well as applications and solutions based on gvSIG conducted in different Latin American countries, projects that closely follow international interoperability standards and also are more sustainable.
