Your visitors on Google map

Knowing where visitors come and place them on the map is one of the functions provided by Google Analytics, but there is still no such functionality to display their own maps. The example represents my visitors today, with the drawback that there is no zoom, unless you want to view by country, and those annoying sizes cannot be controlled.

However, Zipwise friends using the Google Maps API have made a nice toy that, with just getting the hit from an image placed on the blog, it may reflects the last 100 visitors on the map.

To do so, copy the following code in the header or in a deluxe Adsense ad types.

ZIP Code Maps

Here I show the example of how we see the influence zone of the Hispanic area that frequents Geofumadas at 10 PM, Venezuela’s time zone. Of course, with the disadvantage of only being able to see the last 100 unless you catch its API code and make your own tricks.

An IP conversion to a coordinate type lat, lon is a SQL function that exists in the form INET_ATON() and INET_NTOA(). Although the friends of Zipwise claim that there is a simple way to convert it manually:

For instance, a 12.34.56.78 IP is transformed making series in the way:

12 * 256^3 = 201,326,592
34 * 256^2 = 2,228,224
56 * 256^1 = 14,336
78 * 256^0 = 78

Till taking it to the form:

203,569,230

Je je, it’s as easy as the Bentley Map Geospatial Administrator.

There are other data that can be downloaded from the Zipwise website and through paid services you can access to their data services.
