There are already the 77 nominated natural wonders

After several days of silence, there are already published the 77 best rated natural wonders, one per country. In some cases, the proposals received more votes than the elected but were not well documented by the bureaucrats in charge of each country. A year ago I presented the complete list of proposals; here are some of our Hispanic environment, 36 to be specific…

South America

  • Argentina: Perito Moreno, Glacier
  • Colombia: Chicamocha Canyon
  • Brasil: Fernando de Noronha, Archipelago
  • Chile: Atacama Desert
  • Perú: Colca Canyon
  • Ecuador: Galapagos Islands, Archipelago
  • Venezuela: Angel Falls
  • Paraguay: The Koi and Chorori Hills
  • Uruguay: Ombú Forest
  • Bolivia: Laguna Colorada

Central America, here Guatemala is the great vacuum, which apparently did not officially document any of the proposals it had, although there were very good, the Atitlan Lake and the Pacaya volcano.

  • Honduras: Platano, Forest

West Europe

  • Spain: Sierra Nevada, National Park
  • Portugal: Douro, River/Valley
  • France: Camargue, Marsh
  • Andorra: Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley

Caribbean Sea

  • Cuba: Vinales Valley
  • Dominican Republic: Lake Enriquillo
  • Puerto Rico: El Yunque Nature Conservancy Park
  • Jamaica: Dunn’s River Falls
  • Haití: Lake Azuei

Share for more than one country, in addition appears 7 proposals shared by various countries, one in North America, the rest in the south cone.

The photo on the right is the Perito moreno glacier, Argentina. It has 250 km2 of ice formation.

Now we can proceed with the vote, from these 77 proposals will be selected 21 finalists on July 7 2009. So … it’s time to vote.
