Google Chrome shortcuts

clip_image001[1]They are not well known, I suppose that neither used, but several of them are interesting for common routines.

Many are also half absurd, obvious or repetitive, such as the clicks with the mouse wheel; if you try you will find it very difficult without doing something crazy for the weakness at the turn.

The list is as so it should be memorize by Rain man, it is marked in red a sample (Spanish Idiom: “para muestra un boton” which means that we are showing a sample that verifies what we are saying about), surely being very careful we can find the five most needed tasks.

Windows and Tabs Shortcuts

Ctrl+N Open a new Window
Ctrl+T Open a new tab
Ctrl+Shift+N Open a new window in mode unknown
Press Ctrl+O and select a file Open a file on your computer in a Google Chrome window
Press Ctrl and click over a link OR apply click over a hyperlink with the mouse central button Open the link in a new tab in the background
Press Ctrl+Shift and apply a click over a link OR press Shift and apply click over a link with the mouse central button Open link in a new tab and change to that tab
Press Shift and apply click over a link Open link in new window
Ctrl+Shift+T Return to display the last tab that has been closed; Google Chrome remembers the last ten tabs that have been closed
Drag a link to a tab Open the link in the tab
Drag a link to the space of the Tab’s bar Open the link in a new tab
Drag a Tab out of the Tab’s Bar Open tab in a new window
Drag a Tab out of the Tab’s Bar and insert in an existing window Open tab in an existing window
Press Esc while dragging a Tab Place back the tab in its original position
Ctrl+1 until Ctrl+8 Go to the tab with the position number specified in the tab bar

Press BackSpace key OR press Alt key and Left Arrow simultaneously Go to previous page history navigation arrow to access the tab
Press Shift+BackSpace OR press Alt key and Right Arrow simultaneously Go to back navigation history page to access the tab
Press Ctrl and apply a click in the Forward Arrow, in the back Arrow or in the Arrow Button of the Toolbar OR apply click in any button with the mouse central button Open the button location in a new tab in the background
Make double click in the Tab Bar’s space Maximize the window
Alt+Home/strong> Open the home page in your current window

Shortcuts to use functions of Google Chrome

Ctrl+B Show / hide the bookmarks toolbar
Ctrl+Shift+B Open the Bookmarks Manager
Ctrl+H Open History page
Ctrl+J Open the Downloads page
Shift+Esc Open Task Manager
Shift+Alt+T Focus on the toolbar. Use the arrows to the right and left to navigate through the different areas of the bar

Ctrl+Shift+Del Open Clear browsing data
F1 Open Help Center in new tab (our favorites)

Shortcuts in the address bar:

Use the following shortcuts in the address bar:

Write a search term and then press Enter Perform a search using your default search engine
Enter keyword from the search engine, press the Space key and then press Tab key, enter a search term and press Enter Conduct a search through the search engine associated with the keyword
Enter a URL associated to a search engine, press Tab key, enter a search term and press Enter Conduct a search through the search engine associated with the URL
Write the part of an URL between “www.” and “. com” and then press Ctrl + Enter Add www. and. com to the entry and open the resulting URL
Writing a URL and then press Alt + Enter Open URL in new tab
F6 or Ctrl+L or Alt+D Select the URL
Ctrl+K or Ctrl+E Insert a question mark (“?”) in the address bar. Write a search term after the question mark to run the default search engine
Click on the address bar and then press Ctrl and the Left Arrow simultaneously Move the cursor to the previous key term in the address bar
Click on the address bar and then press Ctrl and the Right Arrow simultaneously Move the cursor to the next key term in the address bar
Click on the address bar and then press Ctrl + Backspace Delete the key term in front of the cursor in the address bar
Select an entry in the dropdown menu on the address bar with the arrow keys and then press Shift + Delete Delete, whenever possible, the navigation history entry
Click on an entry from the drop down menu of the address bar with the middle mouse button Open entry in a new tab in background
Press PgDn or PgUp when the drop-down menu of the address bar is visible Select the first or last entry in the dropdown menu

Ctrl+P Print current page
Ctrl+S Save the current page
F5 o Ctrl+R Reload the current page
Esc Stop loading page
Ctrl+F Open the search bar
Ctrl+G o F3 Find the next result of the query entered in the search bar
Ctrl+Shift+G,
Shift+F3o Shift+Enter
Search previous result of the query entered in the search bar
Clicking the middle mouse button (or mouse wheel) Turn on auto scroll. As you move the mouse, the page automatically scrolls depending on the direction of the mouse.

Reload the current page, ignoring cached content
Press Alt and apply click on a link Download the content of the link
Ctrl+U Open the source code of the current page
Drag a link to the bookmarks toolbar Add link to Bookmarks
Ctrl+D Add the current web page to Bookmarks
F11 Open the page in full screen mode. Press F11 again to exit full screen mode
Ctrl and + or press Ctrl and scroll the wheel mouse up Zoom whole page content
Ctrl and – or press Ctrl y scroll the wheel mouse down Reduce the content of the page
Ctrl+0 Restore normal size of the entire page content
Space Bar Navigating through the Web page
Home Go to the top of the page
End Go to the bottom of the page
Press Shift and move the mouse wheel Scroll horizontally across the page
