What’s new on AutoCAD ws 1.2

clip_image001It was launched 1.2 version for AutoCAD 2011 WAS, that AutoDesk wonderful free application that lets work online and on mobile devices.

It is a substantial improvement, although mobile version goes back to everything made by online working version. These improvements include:

Layouts support. The best of this as before you could only work at workspace level, but with print templates integration you can get much more out of final products presentation.

More languages. Now it supports Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and of course Spanish and Portuguese. In my view this application will be widely distributed and AutoDesk will use its position to take advantage on mobile clip_image002applications for no one else has dared at this level. Not for free and with so much market share.

Tentative snap. This is just great, for not making mistakes in point’s capture where there is no good control when using fingers – or nails – a ball zooms in and shows us on the fly how capture would be.

Copy / paste. This is not recent; clearly none of this is new in online version. But at tablets’ level, things are novel indeed; it took me hard effort get accustomed in using two fingers to navigate on a glass platform. But down the road I’m getting, and the impression of doing a live show is unforgettable.

Additionally, it has added freehand drawing, known as Brush, to make notes. And there are other improvements not as significant, even for Anglo-Saxon English units.

So, open iTunes and download the update…

Here you can see it working
